Half Irish and half Ecuadorian, Maria-Christina McPadden is an innovative and up and coming 27 years old fashion designer. Specialized in knitwear design, she has worked for many different brands such as Viktor and Rolf in Amsterdam, Mary Katrantzou in London and now she’s working on his own collection named “Puro Colorinche”. It is based on her grandmother: inspired by her pajamas, her love of flowers, the traditional Ecuadorian clothing and by the surroundings in Ecuador, Maria-Christina develop all these elements into embellishments used throughout the collections. “Puro Colorinche” focuses on color and oversized silhouettes made from a blend of bamboo yarns and merino wool combined with silk and Italian cotton to create a clear contrast in textures and forms.
