As Parsons School of Design’s MFA student, Di Gao has always been so passionate about knitting and crochet, that she made it the main character of her final collection.
Inspired by Chinese architecture, her aim was digging up the irresistible charm of a totally artisanal practice, which seemed to be very distant from the last generations’ tastes.
Starting with a base entirely worked with a copper wire, on it she subsequently worked with the colored yarn, she designed light structures, full of poetry and delicacy but modern and biting at the same time.
