Increase
You’re now ready to learn how to shape fabrics with crochet!
Increasing is no more than an addition of a new stitch inside the work and you get it working two times in the same chain, that is realizing two stitches (two single crochet stitches in the pictures) in a single chain.
Increasing is essential in crochet in the round, good for hats, caps, doilies and so on.
At the beginning or at the end of a line, increases will give an oblique shape to your work; if realized in the middle it creates an upward rounded effect.
